Privacy Policy
Last updated: 26th July 2026
This policy explains what personal data judemyers.eu ("the site") collects, why, and what rights you have. This site is based in Ireland and operated by Jude Myers ("I", "me"). For any questions, contact: judejmyers@gmail.com
What I collect
Contact form. If you use the contact form, I collect your name and email address, plus whatever you write in the message. This is used only to reply to you. I don't add you to any mailing list from this.
Analytics. This site runs on Squarespace, which uses cookies and similar technologies to collect analytics data — pages visited, referring site, approximate location (from IP), device and browser type. This helps me understand which content people find useful. Squarespace's own privacy practices are described at squarespace.com/privacy.
YouTube embeds. Some posts embed YouTube videos. When a page with an embedded video loads, YouTube (Google) may set cookies and collect data about your device, even if you don't click play. This is governed by Google's privacy policy, not mine.
Legal basis
Contact form: your consent, given by submitting the form.
Analytics: legitimate interest in understanding site usage, or consent where required (see Cookies below).
YouTube embeds: consent, since loading the embed triggers third-party cookies.
Cookies
The site uses cookies from Squarespace (functional/analytics) and, where a video is embedded, from YouTube. When you first visit, a banner lets you accept, decline, or manage these cookies - non-essential cookies (like analytics) aren't set until you choose to accept them. YouTube may still set its own cookies when a video embed loads, regardless of your choice in the banner.
Data retention
Contact form messages are kept only as long as needed to handle your enquiry, then deleted. Analytics data is retained per Squarespace's/Google's standard retention periods.
Your rights (GDPR)
As an EU resident, you have the right to access, correct, delete, or export your personal data, and to object to or restrict its processing. To exercise any of these, email judejmyers@gmail.com. You also have the right to complain to the Irish Data Protection Commission (dataprotection.ie) if you think your data has been mishandled.
Third parties
Data may pass through Squarespace (hosting/analytics) and Google/YouTube (video embeds). I don't sell or share your data for advertising.
Changes
I may update this policy occasionally; the "last updated" date at the top will reflect that.
