Gaft.ie

Gaft.ie is a comprehensive UI/UX case study born out of the modern student housing crisis. Grounded in deep user research, this project examines the structural friction points of open-market real estate platforms like Daft.ie and cluttered institutional portals like the UL Accommodation site. By conducting rigorous multi-stage usability testing and synthesising feedback into actionable affinity diagrams, I identified a critical drop-off point: restrictive sign-in walls and deeply fragmented communication. Gaft.ie eliminates these barriers through a "search-first" architecture , introducing transparent, standardised pricing alongside an post-enquiry dashboard. Built completely in Figma, this high-fidelity prototype bridges the gap between discovery and lease management , featuring an integrated utility splitter , landlord tracking timeline , and peer-to-peer housemate matching —evolving user frustration into a seamless digital home base.
